Inktober Daisy 2020
G’day Friends!
Welcome to Inktober 2020
Daisy’s Travel Journal!
We first met Daisy back in 2018 and I’m super excited to continue exploring her imagination this year.
Below you’ll find the introduction passage and 31 prompts. Each prompt is a “caption” and a destination - representative of the caption Daisy writes in her journal under the photo of the places she visited.
My plan is to illustrate a photograph to represent the daily caption. You can elaborate on her story if you feel like it, you know Daisy has a wild imagination.. I’m thinking I’ll draw 4x6 photos and actually put them in a “Daisy’s Travel Journal” all scrapbook/travel journal style. Still undecided, but that’s what’s great about prompt and challenges: we all interpret them in exciting ways!
I’ve included an illustrated version of the prompts list and the Daisy Cheat Sheet below (you can also download and print them both at the end of the post).
As always, Daisy belongs to all of us and you have my 100% permission to make original and derivative works. If you’re making books, stickers, washi, spin-off’s - all I ask is that you share a photo with me so I can enjoy her journey with you as well :) I have copyrighted her to include “The Burkemates”, so hopefully that’s all the permission you need to feel as Creative and as entrepreneurial as you want to be.
I’m hoping to get really involved this year, despite having a schedule so full I literally feel exhausted reading it, Haha. If you’ve decided to bring Daisy to life this year you can share with us all on social media with
#jlbcreativedaisy
I’m really looking forward to it - and I’m sure Daisy is too ;)
James.
Daisy’s Travel Journal
This photo diary has traveled with me,
through faraway lands, across every sea;
to capture all the sights I’ve seen
and picture every place I’ve been.
This volume is finished so I'm sending it to you,
I'll pick it back up at our next rendezvous.
I don’t want to lose it, you know that’s most likely,
So I’m asking you please, ever so politely -
Keep it real safe, until I come back
Two months from now (if we stay on track).
Wish you were here, on my insane expedition,
if you wanna read about it, you have my permission.
Ps. I know that you think my stories are delusional,
So enjoy these photos, this proof’s irrefutable 😉
With thanks and with love, signed and sincerely,
Daisy, your friend, missing you dearly.
